It’s the new month (and new year) and that means that there are changes to my portfolio.
Every month, what I do is that I add on to my portfolio with the additional budget or savings from my employment income.
The biggest changes from last month was that, I liquidated all my US stocks because the market has been crashing. And because of that, I have been overweight in cash last month.
With the overweight in cash, I contributed to my CPF SA account to enjoy some tax relief as well as letting the interest compound until i’m old.
Also, I’ve bought some Singapore Savings Bond which will give me a 2.45% effective rate PA if i hold it for 10 years until maturity.
Due to that, my portfolio composition shifted heavily towards an overweight in cash as well as increase in my bond position (SSB and CPF). Also added on some Singapore stocks to collect dividends.
Here’s my new portfolio exposure:
December 2018 January 2019 Additions:
- Singapore Savings Bond Jan 2019
- Accordia Golf Trust
- Asian Pay TV Trust
My risk exposure now is very very low as only 20% of my portfolio are in medium to high risk level.
Let’s hope the US market goes down a bit more before I deploy my capital to accumulate some blue chips stocks.
