If you haven already heard, Steve Jobs passed away. Steve is indeed one of the few rare person whose death will actually touch a lot of people around the world. The World has lost a visionary today.
While reading all of his noteworthy and inspiring quotes that will forever be passed down to the future generation along with his revolutionary Apple legacy, nothing struck me more than the fact that he is as awe-inspiring as few can reach. I was just telling a friend last night about Jack Ma, the CEO and lead Founder of Alibaba and Taobao, whom is a visionary as well. I read one book which collates all of Jack’s keynotes and speeches, and of the thousand notes and things that he advised, the one that I can remember till today is that:
“It is important to know where you stand today in the society as compared to what peers of your age around the world are doing right now. It is good to know that differences and gap exists between you and them, but it is scary to not know that the gap actually existed.” What it means is that we should not be in our comfort zone, and that we should always know what people around the world and doing and remember that they are constantly improving. We should not just stick in our social circle in university but must constantly improve ourself and be updated with whats going on around the world.
“It is the best to be a millionaire because there is not much worries. It is ok to be a multi millionaire but you have to worry about your investments and whether they are depreciating or appreciating. When you are a billionaire, it is not easy, because, the money is not yours. The money belongs to the society and they are entrusting it to you. You bear responsibility for that amount of money. You are holding the money for them.” – This is another one of those quotes which reflects the level of intellectual where we normal person will never come about. It is the level of intellectual that makes him, the first Chinese to be on the Forbes magazine cover page. Some even referred him as Steve Jobs of the East.
So back to Steve Jobs, again while reading all the quotes by him, he is another one visionary with a totally new dimension of thinking and intellectual. It is only when you have experienced a lot, when you have been through a lot then you would reach this kind of intellectual. He has indeed touched a lot of people around the world with his works and his visions. Because he have left us, let us hold our iPhones a little tighter today.
